The Center could create accounts on the top social networking sites, MySpace, Facebook, and LinkedIn, to reach teenagers with IT information. Teenagers spend about 16 hours a week online and about 11 of those hours on social network sites. 47% of users go to their sites every day. Companies are having their own pages - Best Buy has a Facebook page set up to get Fans instead of friends.People currently using social networking sites: 70% teens online. 2011 projections: 84% teens online

The Center, working with college deans and alumni directors could create an IT alumni association open to IT alumni from all MnSCU institutions (or other colleges & universities as well). As these alumni would represent both employers and employees, the group could serve as mentors, be a vibrant IT network, and be IT trend & research resources.
